About the School

Ashland Beauty Academy, established in 1983, offers cosmetology and student instructor programs. The programs provide comprehensive training. In addition, the central clinic floors provide a salon atmosphere. 

Academic Programs

• Cosmetology program - Students are trained in haircutting, styling, hair relaxing, chemical texturing, coloring, and in basic and advanced techniques in hair extensions. Training is also provided in facials, manicuring, hair removal and makeup. A review of theories is also included. The program includes a substantial amount of hands-on training. The program is completed in just over one year. Students are prepared to take the state board examination.
  
  
• Esthetician program - The student will learn the technical techniques and methods of performing facials (manual, electrical and chemical), proper make-up techniques, and hair removal techniques, safety and sanitation requirements, reception desk duties, professionalism, ethics, personal grooming, dress employer-employee relationships, personal and business ethics, customer relations and communication skills. background of practical hands-on training directly related to selected industry topics.
  
  
• Manicurist program - This course covers all phases of manicuring and pedicuring. Successful completion of this course and successful completion of the State National Examination and Licensure will allow the Nail Technician to perform Manicuring and Pedicuring services.
